Our local church was founded by Bishop Kenneth Thacker and his wife, Martha in February 1982.

The original structure was built in the mid-1800's, and initially the home of the A.M.E Zion

Church in Chuckey, Tennessee. After the A.M.E Zion Church ceased operations in that building, it was then later bought by Bishop and Mrs. Thacker in February 1982. Unfortunately, in Feb. 1984, while conducting Sunday School services, the ceiling of the church started burning due to a wiring problem. Everyone escaped unharmed, but the structure sustained heavy damage by the fire and had to be torn down.  In the meantime, Bishop Thacker conducted services in homes of church members, basements, etc. In the spring of 1985 the basement of the new church was started.

After the basement's completion in May of 1986, The Lord's House resumed it's regular church services in the finished basement of the new church, and did so due to finances until 1999. After God spoke to Bishop Thacker, and with a leap of Faith, the church announced it would be rebuilding the upper level of the church. Then through God's grace, the new building started taking shape.

The community and several local merchants donated labor and building materials, and The Campground Church of God on the Asheville Highway in Greeneville, Tennessee donated  it's old pavilion for building materials, which completed a majority of the structure. After a lot of faith, prayers and hard work, the Lord's House conducted it's first service in the new building in June, 2000. The Lord's House is a chartered non-denominational organization, where we believe in the Full Gospel of Jesus Christ, and where everyone is welcome to worship God in Spirit and in Truth.
